 According to the Petit Robert: Marketing is all actions aimed at analyzing the present market potential of a good or service and implement ways to meet the demand or stimulate.

According Koteler Dubois :
Marketing is the economic and social mechanism by which individuals and groups meet their needs and desires through the creation and exchange of the product and another amount of value to others.
The goal of marketing: is the creation, preservation, customer development.


Electronic marketing refers to the application of marketing principles and techniques via electronic media and more specifically the Internet. The terms e-Marketing, Internet marketing and online marketing, are frequently interchanged, and can often be considered synonymous.

E-Marketing is the process of marketing a brand using the Internet. It includes both direct response marketing and indirect marketing elements and uses a range of technologies to help connect businesses to their customers.By such a definition, e-Marketing encompasses all the activities a business conducts via the worldwide web with the aim of attracting new business, retaining current business and developing its brand identity. 

Electronic marketing is directly marketing a commercial message to a group of people via email. In its broadest sense, every email sent to a potential or current customer could be considered email marketing . It usually involves the use of email to send ads, request business , or solicit sales or donations , and aims to build loyalty, trust or brand awareness . Email marketing can be done to either lists or sold database of current customers. In general, the term is generally used to refer to :
  1.     Sending electronic messages with the aim of enhancing the relationship of a merchant with its current or previous customers , to encourage customer loyalty and customer retention .
  2.     Sending electronic messages in order to acquire new customers or persuade existing customers to buy something immediately.
  3.     Adding advertisements to e -mails sent by other companies to their customers .


Types of email marketing

Transactional emails 

Transactional emails are usually triggered on the basis of a client share with a company. Transactional messages include messages triggered abandoned cart , purchase or order confirmation emails and email receipts.The primary e -mail transactional goal is to provide information on the action that triggered it . But because of its high open rates (51.3% compared to 36.6% for email newsletters ) transactional emails are a golden opportunity to engage customers , to introduce or expand the electronic relationship with clients or customers , anticipate and respond to questions or against - sell or up-sell products or services.Many software vendors offer support newsletter -mail transaction , which gives companies the opportunity to include promotional messages in the body of transactional emails . There are also software that offer marketing services specialized transactional email , which include the provision of transactional emails targeted, personalized and specific marketing campaigns .

Direct emails 

Direct email involves sending an email solely to communicate a promotional message (for example, an announcement of a special offer or a catalog of products). Companies usually collect a list of customer or prospect email addresses to send direct promotional messages to, or they can also rent a list of email addresses from service companies.
